Christmas & NYE Gig Guide

Here at Stoke Gigs we’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. If you’re looking to tickle your musical tastebuds for the final time in 2010 then you’re in for a treat. There’s plenty to do city wide so get ready to party.


Tonight at The Full Moon it’s the Alternative Xmas Eve party with DJ Dave Heathen on the decks. Entry is free until 11pm and £2 there after.

Elsewhere acoustic singer songwriter Mick Giliker and friends play Blakey’s Café Bar from 9:00pm. Entry is free.


At the Fat Cat Café Bar Gettin Funk’d present their Boxing Day bonanza, featuring DJ Steve Platinum, DJ Marc Russo, Gregory Howe and special guests, playing the best in funky, electro house. Admission is free and doors open at 9:30pm.


On Monday The Full Moon welcome you to their Christmas acoustic party with Ghost Trains and Gareth Powell plus DJ SweetJayne until 2am. Entry is free from 8pm.


On Wednesday The Jalapenos play The Full Moon in Newcastle from 8pm. A quality rock ‘n’ roll band, the band have an emphasis on having a good time. Entry is £2 on the door.


On Thursday HeadrusH launch their brand new E.P. at The Sugarmill, for the final time of the year. Support comes from Bad Attitude and The Honour Roll. Tickets are £4.50 from Music Mania on 01782 206000.

At The Full Moon celebrate a Ska Christmas party with local lads Rough Kutz plus Headgames, plus a ska DJ set until 2am. Entry is £4 on the door from 8pm.


On Friday see in the New Year with a night of classic rock, metal, thrish, punk, ska and oi. Music comes from the likes of Motorhead, The Specials, The Clash, Rough Kutz, Dropkick Murphys and more at The Red Lion. Entry is free.

The Black Friar host their New Years Eve Moulin Rouge Party from 7pm. Entry is free, fancy dress is a must.

At The Full Moon The Vendettas play a very special set including classics from The Stone Roses and The Clash plus more. DJ SweetJayne will be spinning the discs following the gig until late. Entry is £4 on the door, on a first come first served basis so be early to avoid disappointment.

Elsewhere bring in 2011 at The Sugarmill with their Electric NYE special. With the best in indie tunes, 2-4-1 drinks and DJ sets from Eddie Kerr and Scott Thomas, tickets are available now from Music Mania for £5. Doors open at 9:30pm.

At The Old Brown Jug the New Years Eve celebrations continue with hosts, Matrix Club Mix from 10:00pm. Entry is £9 on the door.
