Upcoming Shows at the Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall

Big names and blockbuster shows as The Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall launch summer/autumn seasons

The award-laden Legally Blonde The Musical kicks off The Regent Theatre’s new season in style and will be coming to Stoke-on-Trent as part of its UK Tour.  Based on the hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon, this all singing, all dancing, feel-good musical comedy will be the must-see theatrical event of the year and the most fashionable ticket in town.

Glyndebourne on Tour perform one of the most popular operas of all time in December, the sublime La boheme; Stoke favourite Matthew Bourne returns with Nutcracker! as the delicious theatrical treat celebrates its 20th anniversary and get ready for a rollercoaster ride as All the Fun of the Fair starring David Essex arrives in town just in time to celebrate Bonfire Night!

It’s all change for the region’s biggest and brightest pantomime, as Joe Swash becomes The Regent’s newest panto star in this years festive show, Aladdin. Joe shot to fame in Eastenders and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and can currently be seen presenting Gimme A Break on the CBBC Channel.

Aladdin is a fantastically funny, traditional family pantomime packed with sensational songs, sparkling sets, hilarious comedy and lots of audience participation.

Jonathan Wilkes is also back in panto! Well, panto for grown-ups anyway! Regent star Jonny Wilkes brings his very own adult panto, Pantos on Strike, to his home town in January with co-star Paddy McGuinness and Brian Capron.

The Victoria Hall is enjoying one of its highest profile years to date with a host of big names appearing in the famous Hanley venue in the coming months.

Rock legend Slash performs his homecoming gig in July, US pop punk band, Bowling For Soup, make their debut in October and Jools Holland returns with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

The Victoria Hall also boasts an impressive comedy roll call with some of the UK’s biggest stars set to appear including Lee Evans, Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey, Jason Manford, Dave Spikey, Sarah Millican, Reginald D Hunter, Omid Djalili and Lee Nelson.

Britain’s Got Talent act, The Circus of Horrors make a triumphant return, former Top of the Pops presenter Mike Read hosts 80s Mania “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” Live Tour and fresh from her new Sky Living series Psychic Sally on the Road, Sally Morgan returns by popular demand.

Celebrate the hits of Robbie Williams in Let Me Entertain You starring JK as Robbie, an all star cast present The Vagina Monologues and Puppetry of the Penis is back bigger than ever and now in 3D!
