Above The Underground make their long awaited return to Crewe’s music scene with a headline slot at The Box this evening from 7:30pm. The band have defended pop punk alongside the likes of scene bigwigs, Set Your Goals, A Loss For Words and Elliot Minor. New Romantics also return in support with debuts for both White Eskimo and Aeris. Tickets are £5.

Stoke Gigs Needs You!

Since its conception in early 2010, Stoke Gigs has come a long way. We can proudly boast that we are now one of the biggest local music sites in Stoke! We’ve taken part in the Guardian Student Media Awards 2 years running, been involved in local music competitions as well as the UKs biggest music festival, Oxjam, and even hosted our own club nights.

We have forged strong links with local venues and artists, but it’s simply not enough! We’re now looking to expand even further, but we need your help!

This evening Dead Radio Society play The Rigger in Newcastle to promote the release of their new Plan Z ep. The gig is free entry with live music all night, finished off by the Plan Z stage show. Support comes from John Macleod, music starts at 7:30pm.

Propoganda comes to Stoke

Propaganda has long been hailed the UK’s biggest indie night, and has managed to attract an impressive 20,000 people a week to its 20 club nights across 4 countries. The brand have recently signed up several new clubs, and The Sugarmill, in Hanley, are one of it’s newest recruits.

How The Riots Could Ruin Indie Music

The London riots have caused the destruction of a warehouse in North London housing many of the UK’s independent labels and artists.  All the stock has been destroyed in the fire.  This will lead to much hardship for the artists and labels affected.

Limited Number of V Festival Tickets still available

Did you miss out on purchasing tickets for this years V Festival 2011? Fear not. Hanley independent music store Music Mania have just announced that they have a very limited amount of tickets for Staffordshire Weston Park’s biggest music festival.

According to the store a limited amount of weekend camping and weekend only tickets have become available for purchase, for face value including booking fee.

To get yours call the store on 01782 206000 or visit the shop, based in 4-6 Piccadilly Arcade Hanley, but act quickly as they are due to fly off the shelves.

What are you listening to Cloud 9?

Summer is just around the corner, with preparations already underway in fields across the nation. And far from the glare of endurance testing four-day mud-binges, a rural locale set in breathtaking countryside readies itself to host one non-stop party aimed at all ages.

Cloud 9 festival will again take over Love Lane farm in Cheshire on Saturday 6th August 2011 with overnight camping tantalising tastebuds with a 15-hour sonic spread offering anything and everything. So that’s 5,000 music lovers listening to raucous indie, hard dance, folk and all that lies between.

The Situation presents four good reasons to come to The Swan

There’s four good reasons to visit The Swan, St Edwards Street, Leek on 5th August with four great bands lined up to play a great set.

Potteries band The Fortunas headline with their experimental indie rock sound. The band has established a great following playing at venues like the Glebe and the Sugarmill to name a few.

Gig Guide Friday 22nd – Friday 29th July

Stuck in a rut? Not sure what to do? Luckily here at Stoke Gigs, we’ve covered all bases and got this weeks entertainment all wrapped up for you…

This Saturday and Sunday the Stoke Punk and Ska Fest returns to The Green Star in Smallthorne. 25 bands will take to the stage in total over the two days including The Grit, One Way System, Rough Kutz and Roughneck Riot. A weekend pass for the event is £22, or day tickets are available, £15 Saturday and £11 Sunday admission. There is a large free car park, camping is available, along with food and trade stalls. Tickets are available from the venue and doors open at 12pm.
